Inspector Gadget 2 (2003)

In the tranquil outskirts of Riverton, lauded as "The Safest City in America," Inspector Gadget, armed with his myriad of crime-fighting gizmos, holds a watchful eye over the peace. Accompanied by his loyal canine sidekick, Brain, he waits in his Gadgetmobile, troubled by the eerie quiet. As he wisely notes, "it's always the most quiet just before criminals strike," an ominous forecast hinting at lurking evil. One day, in an overzealous bout of crime fighting, Gadget lands himself in hot water by arresting an elderly woman for reckless driving, causing a comical yet alarming malfunction of his gadgets. This woman, to Gadget's dismay, turns out to be the mother of Chief Quimby, his superior. The incident triggers a reevaluation at headquarters and Gadget finds himself on the cusp of probation. Baxter, the ingenious "Q" of the Police Department, reassures him that as a prototype, glitches are part of the journey, hinting at a top-secret remedy. However, the tranquility of Riverton is shattered when Claw, Gadget's formidable nemesis, executes a daring escape from prison under the cover of a raging storm. With evil once again tainting their peaceful city, Chief Quimby reluctantly offers Gadget a shot at redemption; the capture and return of Claw. As Gadget prepares for this monumental task, the Police Department unveils a surprise - G2, a new and improved version of the Gadget project. Despite being given strict orders to stay clear of G2 and the ensuing crime scenes, the ever-determined Gadget feels an undeniable pull towards the action. With his reputation on the line and the safety of Riverton at stake, a thrilling chase commences, setting the stage for an unforgettable showdown between good, evil, and the complexities of modern law enforcement.
