Ink (2009)

As dusk descends upon the city, a hidden world awakens. Two cosmic forces, the Storytellers and the Incubi, commence their nightly battle in the realm of dreams. The Storytellers, architects of hope, weave dreams that inspire and strengthen, while the Incubi, masters of despair, instill nightmares that drain the spirit. Amidst this ethereal conflict, John Sullivan, a widower on the brink of a monumental corporate deal, and his estranged daughter, Emma, find themselves unwillingly drawn into the fray. John is unknowingly pursued by an Incubus, his dreams tainted with despair, while Emma is torn from the safety of her bed by the enigmatic figure known as Ink. Desperate to join the ranks of the Incubi, Ink plans to trade Emma's soul to this malevolent assembly. Their journeys through this fantastical dream world are separate, their paths strewn with peculiar entities that seem to exist only in their subconscious mind. Meanwhile, a dedicated band of Storytellers, alarmed by the abduction and the potential loss of Emma's innocent soul, hatch a daring plan. They believe that reuniting Emma with her father in the physical world could disrupt the Incubi's vile intentions. But the dream world is a treacherous place, and the Storytellers must navigate through it, risking everything to preserve the bond between father and daughter, and protect their dreams from the eternal nightmare that threatens to consume them. In this intricate dance between the real world and the dream realm, the lines blur, and John and Emma must grapple with the question: are these unusual characters simply figments of their subconscious or do they hold a deeper significance in their fight for salvation? In this sleep-woven battlefield, the struggle for the soul rages on, an echo of the silent war fought every night, in every city, while its inhabitants slumber, oblivious.
