Indra (2002)

Indra (2002) unfolds a tale of bitter rivalry intertwined with complex loyalties since 1965, between two powerful families - the strong-willed Indrasens and the fiery Reddys. The escalating conflict results in the tragic demise of Indrasen's father and two uncles, one at the hands of his own newly-wed bride from the opposing Reddy clan. Veer Shiva, the perpetrator, is convicted and jailed, but upon release, he challenges Indrasen, leading to his own untimely death. His five vengeful sons swear on his funeral pyre to seek revenge. The plot thickens when their sister, Snehlata, fresh from the U.S., finds herself drawn to the stoic Indrasen, stirring the wrath of her brothers, particularly the hot-headed Veer Shankar. He would rather sacrifice his own son than owe a debt to Indrasen for saving his life. In an attempt to negotiate peace with the Reddys, Indrasen sacrifices his property and estate to build a water reservoir, and in a surprising twist, promises to marry Snehlata. However, their wedding day takes a dark turn when Snehlata learns of Indrasen's violent retaliation against her brothers, leaving three of them dead. The narrative takes a thrilling turn as Snehlata, torn between love and loyalty, allies with Shiva to avenge her brothers' deaths.
