In the chilling expanse of Tyos, a snow-kissed Norwegian town, resides Nils Dickman, a dedicated family man and unassuming hero of the highways. As a snow-plough operator, his tireless battle against the relentless winter has recently earned him the title of Citizen of the Year. However, this peaceful existence shatters like ice when his son, Ingvar, falls victim to local drug dealers, a tragic casualty of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
