I Am Love (2009)

Emerging from the heart of Russia over two decades ago, Emma Recchi, erstwhile 'Kitiesh,' steps into the world of the powerful Milanese elite, drawn into its heart by her husband, the wealthy industrialist Tancredi Recchi. Their grand manor, a symbol of their power and prestige, houses not just them but their three children: Edoardo, Gianluca and Elisabetta. Edoardo and Gianluca walk in their father's footsteps, moulding themselves into businessmen, while Elisabetta, a free spirit, establishes a life in Nice, embracing her identity as a lesbian. Their Edoardo finds love in Eva Ugolini, and through her, discovers a bond of friendship with Antonio Biscaglia, a talented chef whose passion for food mirrors Edoardo's zeal for life. Antonio soon becomes more than a friend, as he and Edoardo become partners in a restaurant venture, a union that brings Antonio into the Recchi family sphere. As Emma, the respected matriarch, navigates through this life, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the young, passionate Antonio. Despite her comfortable life and the respect she commands, she grapples with a sense of unfulfillment, which soon gives way to a passionate tryst with Antonio. This illicit love affair, as fiery as it is secret, is not destined to remain hidden for long. When Edoardo stumbles upon his mother's secret, it sets off a chain of events that culminate in a tragedy that will forever alter the course of the Recchi family, sending ripples of change through their seemingly perfect life. 'I Am Love' is a poignant exploration of love, identity, and the price one pays for passion, all set against the backdrop of a powerful Milanese family.
