Plot

In the bustling heart of New York, Max Monetti, a skilled lawyer hardened by seven years in prison, emerges with a thirst for vengeance against his brothers - Joe, Tony, and Pietro Monetti. As the favorite son of Gino Monetti, a self-made banking tycoon, Max finds himself entangled in a labyrinth of family enmity and business rivalry, much of it sparked by their father's tyrannical reign over their bank in the East Side. As Max revisits his past, the shimmering memories of the early 1930s come alive. In a world burgeoning with opportunity and chaos, he recalls the web of complex relationships that shaped him - his engagement to Maria Domenico, his turbulent love affair with the self-assured Irene Bennett, and the shadow of his father's egocentricity looming large over them. The arrival of the Banking Act in 1933, accusing Gino of misappropriation of funds, becomes a turning point in Max's life. In an effort to protect his father, Max crafts a meticulous plan that is mercilessly sabotaged by his brothers, fueling the family feud further. Haunted by the motto "Never Forgive, Never Forget," Max's quest for retribution takes a dramatic turn when he begins to see the true root of their familial discord. Revisiting his past, particularly his entanglement with Irene, opens Max's eyes to the destructive influence of their father. As he wrestles with this realization, Max must decide whether to continue the cycle of revenge or choose a path of reconciliation, laying the ghosts of the House of Strangers to rest.
