Plot

In the wake of a scandalous DUI incident, Cory Brand (Scott Elrod), a once-revered baseball superstar, finds himself thrust back into the humble confines of his small hometown. Suspended from his illustrious team and grappling with his inner demons, he embarks on a challenging journey towards redemption while navigating the intricacies of a 12-step program. Initially, Cory enters this new chapter of his life with a single goal in mind: to conclude his treatment hastily and reclaim his position on the baseball field. He adopts the mantle of coaching a local youth baseball team, a role he treats as a mere stepping stone towards regaining his lost glory and popularity. However, as he spends more time on the sidelines, observing the pure love for the game reflected in the eyes of his young players, a dormant passion within him gradually reignites. Simultaneously, Cory's path crosses with a familiar face from his past—an old flame whose presence instills a newfound sense of hope for a brighter future. As he finds himself caught in a whirlwind of personal transformation, Cory learns to seek grace not on a baseball diamond, but in the heart of his close-knit community, amidst fellow addicts striving for recovery. The movie "Home Run" traces Cory's poignant journey from a fallen sports icon to a man seeking genuine redemption, offering an inspiring narrative of love, faith, and the healing power of second chances.
