Plot

In the heart of New York, a morally bankrupt NYPD Lieutenant navigates the treacherous waters of his own corruption, drug addiction, and rampant gambling habit. His authority becomes his gateway to a shadowy underworld, where he brokers deals with hardened criminals and drug dealers, harvesting ill-gotten gains and narcotics. Amidst this chaos, his reckless betting on baseball has left him neck-deep in debt, drawing the ire of ruthless bookies and dangerous individuals. His life is a twisted cocktail of vice and abuse, with his days spent investigating homicides interspersed with drug-fueled escapades, illicit encounters with prostitutes, and the manipulation of vulnerable teenagers. However, the Lieutenant's downward spiral into oblivion takes an unexpected turn when he investigates the brutal violation of a nun. The nun's unwavering forgiveness towards her assailants shakes the Lieutenant to his core, prompting a profound reflection on his own deplorable lifestyle. Touched by her religious conviction, he embarks on a desperate quest for redemption, pleading with Jesus for salvation. As he hunts down the youngsters responsible for the heinous act, he's compelled to confront the demons of his own making, leading him to question if salvation is within his reach, or if he's already damned beyond redemption. His journey to salvation or damnation forms the crux of this dark exploration of human morality and the consequences of unchecked vice.
