Plot

In the dusk of the American Civil War, a motley crew of discharged soldiers, led by an ex-colonel, find themselves clinging to their weaponry, the most formidable of which is a Union Army cannon. Driven by the desperate need for survival, they form a rogue gang, their lawless existence marked by the pursuit of gold and power. Yet, their path to wealth crosses with that of a cunning and relentless figure - Acquasanta Joe, a hardened bounty killer whose life savings have been mercilessly stolen by the gang. Betrayed and furious, Joe embarks on a relentless pursuit, his weapon of choice contrasting starkly with the robbers' cannon - a simple but lethal bow and arrow. In this tense cat-and-mouse game, Joe finds unlikely allies in other killers, their temporary friendships fueled by a shared thirst for revenge and the golden prize. Along the way, Joe encounters Estella, a silver prize in the gritty world of outlaws. She provides Joe with vital information and fleeting companionship, her presence further complicating the bitter feud between Joe and the former colonel. The narrative of "Holy Water Joe" is a weaving dance of double-crossings and alliances, of power and desperation, set against the sprawling backdrop of a war-torn nation. The question remains, will Joe's determination and his trusty bow-and-arrow triumph against the might of a cannon? This is a story not just of pursuit, but a test of wit, courage and survival in the face of staggering odds.
