Plot

In the bustling city of Chicago, Mel Gerard, a fiercely ambitious executive at the retail giant Save Now, has become a master at juggling corporate ladders instead of family dinners. Abandoning her quaint hometown of Streetsville fourteen years ago, she now stands on the brink of a prestigious promotion as Head of Development in their International Division, banking on the successful launch of Save Now's hundredth store in Streetsville. She is headed home, not for a warm reunion with her widowed mother Elaine or Thanksgiving turkey, but to sweet-talk the town council into greenlighting the controversial development, an ambition she keeps secret from her mother. However, Streetsville is not just a dot on a development blueprint for Mel, it's also where her past lies buried. Her high school sweetheart and former fiancé, Carter McClure is the town's champion, leading the opposition against the big box store that threatens to rip apart the town's heart. The stakes are personal for Carter; the new store would bulldoze the old inn he and Mel once called home, an inn he has since bought back to resurrect their shared dream, a B&B named Streetsville Inn. Mel's perfectly planned escape to the Bahamas with her girlfriends for Thanksgiving takes a detour when the council delays the vote. A sudden fall and a probable concussion later, Mel wakes up to an alternate universe where she is Melody, a woman who chose love over ambition, married Carter, and runs a charming café named "Sweet Melody's". She finds herself living in the soon-to-be Streetsville Inn and dealing with the life she had left behind for the glitzy corporate world. As her two worlds start to collide, Melody must navigate this bewildering maze, grappling with who she once was, who she has become, and who she truly wants to be. Is she the corporate conqueror destined for international acclaim or the small-town girl with a heart full of love for her hometown and Carter? A tug-of-war between ambitions and affections, Holidaze makes Melody question if she can really return home again and what it would take to live the life she chooses.
