Plot

Sarah, a dedicated pediatrician and single mother, lives a life firmly rooted in family, while her estranged husband Pete, a soon-to-retire commercial pilot, leads a tumultuous life filled with globetrotting adventures and youthful escapades. For a decade, they've lived separate lives, their once-shared world torn asunder by Pete's infidelity and their subsequent legal separation. Their grown daughters, Lisa and Holly, mistakenly believe their parents are divorced and have painted their father with the brush of absence, especially Lisa, who has purposefully excised Pete from her life, even failing to invite him to her wedding or inform him of her impending motherhood. Just before Thanksgiving, Pete's life takes a turn. His decision to remarry a woman young enough to be his daughter and his plans to permanently shift to the Bahamas, forces him to return to Chicago. He needs Sarah to ink the final divorce papers, but Sarah has a condition - Pete must mend fences with their daughters before she will grant him this freedom. Pete's return isn't as brief as he anticipates. As he delves deeper into the lives of Sarah and their daughters, he uncovers truths he was blissfully unaware of. His daughters' lives have moved on without him, and Sarah has managed to keep the family together despite his absence. This unexpected journey forces Pete to reevaluate his relationships and question whether time has indeed healed the wounds of their family, or if the baggage of their past is too heavy to overcome. "Holiday Baggage" is a poignant exploration of family dynamics, past mistakes, and the possibility of forgiveness, set against the backdrop of the holiday season.
