Dancer Ruby is on scholarship to the prestigious Manhattan Conservatory of the Arts. Johnnie is a skilled violinist who barely makes ends meet by performing on the subway. They come from two very different life experiences, but they learn they can make some incredible music together. A competition Ruby discovers will award a scholarship to the best dancer and string musician duo. It's a competition that's perfectly suited to their niche, and winning it is going to be of critical performance. Johnnie is only in America on a green card, and getting a scholarship could be the only way to stay.
