Plot

Jang, a revered economics professor at Seoul's premier National University, finds himself thrust into the limelight when his quick thinking and compassion during a televised debate and a fiery accident transform him into a national hero. Riding this wave of public adoration, Jang makes a bold move into the cutthroat world of politics, throwing his hat into the parliamentary race and spearheading the formation of a revolutionary social bank. Simultaneously, his wife, Oh Soo-yeon, a driven deputy director at a contemporary art gallery, harbors ambitions of her own. Desperate to usurp her female boss, she lures Shin Ji-ho, a renowned photographer, into staging an exhibition with them. As she navigates the labyrinth of art and power, she finds herself entangled in a passionate affair with Ji-ho. Together, they ascend the social ladder into the glittering echelons of high society, a seductive world where politicians, mobsters, and wealthy heirs conduct clandestine deals. As they claw their way up, they learn that this gilded life comes at a steep price. Will they pay it or will they falter? Both their journey and their choices form the riveting heart of "High Society", a tale of ambition, power, and the cost of dreams.
