In the glitzy world of casinos and high society, Terry Trindale, a member of the struggling songwriting duo, Trindale and Champagne, finds himself hopelessly enamored with the enchanting socialite, Consuelo Croydon. His infatuation is so strong that it distracts him from his craft and plunges him into a whirlpool of debt, owing Consuelo a staggering $3,200. His life takes an unexpected turn when he finally musters the courage to approach her, only to find that she has been aware of his silent adoration all along. With the reemergence of her former flame, Tony Barling, a man she knows spells nothing but trouble yet can't seem to resist, Consuelo concocts a plan to both keep Tony at bay and settle Terry's debt.
