In the vibrant world of comedy, Ali (Brewer), a budding comedienne, aspires to mirror the success of her formerly renowned comic father. Her dreams, however, are overshadowed by an overwhelming fear of repeating his downfall. To combat her anxieties, Ali immerses herself in writing classes, seeking solace and growth in the art of storytelling. Yet, life throws her a curveball as she grapples with the mounting expenses of her cousin Kyle's (Tann) upcoming nuptials, compelling her to take on a second job. She finds herself aiding an elderly professor (Dowd) navigating the emotional labyrinth of relocating from her lifelong home. Each newly woven relationship becomes a step in Ali's journey of self-discovery. As these encounters unfold, she is challenged to confront her fear of vulnerability, a life-altering quest that ultimately illuminates her unique path forward.
