Plot

In the heart of 1892 Massachusetts, third-tier vaudeville performers and petty swindlers Harry Dighby and Walter Hill eke out a living, their performances peppered with pickpocketing to pad their paltry earnings. Their clashing perspectives and personalities often lead to squabbles, but their shared ambition to strike it big in vaudeville unites them. Their lives take an unexpected turn when they cross paths with suave New York City socialite and notorious bank robber, Adam Worth. Imprisoned at Concord for their misdemeanors, Harry and Walter find themselves sharing a cell with Adam, who, with audacious flair, turns prison life into a lavish affair, amusingly converting Harry and Walter into his personal servants. The duo soon learns of Adam's audacious plan: robbing the seemingly invincible Lowell Bank and Trust, spurred by a desire to prove his prowess and seek revenge on the bank's President, Rufus T. Crisp. In the shadowy corners of their shared cell, an opportunity presents itself to Harry and Walter. They manage to covertly acquire a copy of the bank's blueprints from Adam, inadvertently destroying the original in the process. Their daring escape from prison sets the stage for a thrilling race against time, with Adam hot on their heels, desperate to reclaim the stolen blueprints. Meanwhile, in the bustling cityscape of New York, they find an unlikely ally: Lissa Chestnut, the fiery publisher of the Socialist Advocate newspaper. Drawn into their audacious plan, Lissa aids Harry and Walter, driven by the desire to strike a blow for the common man and retaliate against a past wrong by Adam. 'Harry and Walter Go to New York' is a whirlwind tale of ambition, audacity, and unlikely alliances. Two conmen, hopelessly out of their depth, risk it all to pull off the most daring bank heist of the nineteenth century, challenging the most notorious bank robber while winning the heart of a crusading newspaperwoman. Watch as their dream of making it big in the world evolves into a high-stakes gamble that promises to keep you on the edge of your seat.
