Jason Avery, a former police officer turned museum security guard, is thrust into an unexpected adventure when a band of armed robbers infiltrate his watch. Their target: a priceless obelisk, reminiscent of a radiant crystal dinosaur egg, ensconced within a vault-like monument that's a curious fusion of the Tardis and the Stargate. The mastermind behind this audacious theft, a scholarly figure with a profound interest in mythology, believes this obelisk holds the power to manipulate the harpies - the fearsome, winged female creatures of ancient lore.
In an unforeseen turn of events, the obelisk initiates a time portal, catapulting Jason more than a millennium into the past, straight into a world teetering on the brink of destruction at the hands of these malevolent harpies. Initially desperate to return home, Jason finds himself embroiled in the villagers' plight. They hail him as the prophesied "harpy slayer," destined to liberate their kingdom from the harpy menace.
His journey intertwines with a golden amulet and a mortal antagonist, both fervently seeking control of the obelisk. Their sinister aim: to marshal a harpy horde and rule supreme.
