In the heart of Chicago, nestled within the nostalgic embrace of a 1960s home, reside Jeff and Kelly Spillane, a married couple in their thirties. Jeff is a steadfast independent filmmaker, providing for his family with a steady paycheck, while Kelly, a published author, devotes her time to their toddler, Jude. Their tranquil domesticity is disrupted when Jeff's twenty-seven-year-old sister, Jenny, arrives on their doorstep post a breakup, seeking refuge in their retro basement. A cocktail of hope and concern stirs within Jeff and Kelly as they invite Jenny into their lives, hoping she might lend a helping hand with Jude. However, the first night back in town, Jenny's reunion with her high school friend Carson reveals her unwavering commitment to a party lifestyle, causing Kelly to doubt her decision to entrust Jude to her care. Jenny's wayward ways continue to unravel as she becomes entwined with Jeff and Kelly's friend, Kevin, in a hazy web of marijuana dealings.
