Plot

In a period of economic despair, Hanzo, a man of principle and courage, unravels a grand conspiracy carried out by high-ranking officials. Preying on the needy, these officials cunningly "borrow" gold from the shogunate's treasury, lending it to the impoverished, including penniless samurai, and in return, they ruthlessly strip them off their family heirlooms or burden them with interest payments. As Hanzo’s investigation deepens, he employs his unorthodox methods to extract a confession from an ethereal ghost, outwits cunning thieves, and rekindles a friendship with his childhood companion, Heisuke Takei. Amidst this chaos, Hanzo extends his protective wing over Genan Sugino, a revolutionary physician who's dared to defame his ruler, and stumbles upon a clandestine pleasure ring involving young wives and a blind music maestro. In a masterstroke of irony, Hanzo manages to cuckold a corrupt official right under his unsuspecting nose, weaving a tale that's as much about justice as it is about the daring audacity of one man against the prevailing corruption. As the plot unfolds, Hanzo the Razor: Who's Got the Gold? serves as a thrilling exploration of deception, courage, and the pursuit of truth in a world shrouded in shadows.
