Plot

Steeped in the thrilling intrigue of Satyajit Ray's Feluda tales and the action-packed escapades of Indiana Jones, Dhrubo Banerjee's latest cinematic adventure is a concoction of suspense, humor, and mystery. It's a wild ride that doesn't pretend to be anything other than a pure, unadulterated joyride. At the heart of the tale is Subarna Sen, or Sona Da, an Oxford history professor who is as much Feluda as he is Indiana Jones. Upon his return to India, Sona Da encounters his young nephew, Abir. Their reunion leads them to the rustic village of Manikantapur and their ancestral home, a place shrouded in enigmatic lore and recent tragedy. The demise of Abir's eccentric yet scholarly maternal uncle under suspicious circumstances adds a layer of mystery to their journey. The village whispers of a hidden Mughal treasure, a 350-year-old secret buried deep within the confines of the ancestral palace, once the dwelling of affluent zamindars. The last zamindar, Abir's late uncle, has left behind a cryptic clue in his diary, a breadcrumb trail to the treasure. Armed with Sona Da's astute intellect, Abir, and his charming love interest, Jhinuk, find themselves plunged into a perilous pursuit of the concealed riches. Their quest, however, is not solitary. A ruthless local thug, a descendant of the zamindar's ministers, is hot on their trail, turning their treasure hunt into a thrilling race against time. "Guptodhoner Sondhane" is thus a riveting journey through history and danger, teetering on the edge of discovery and deceit.
