Set against the eerie backdrop of Japan's infamous "suicide forest," we follow the poignant journey of a college student, Maiko, mourning the tragic suicide of her mother, lost within this spectral woodland. Joined by her friends Amber and Terry, they make the decision to document Maiko's poignant quest in the form of a school project. They enlist the assistance of their fellow student, Kyle, an aspiring filmmaker, to bring their chilling narrative to life. Upon their arrival in the forest, they encounter Jin, an enigmatic and solitary hiker. Jin implores them to respect the sanctity of the deceased, to allow the lost souls their peace, and to abandon their venture. Undeterred, the group presses on, their resolve unwavering. Their college acquaintances Skylar, Brody and Craig, seeking cheap thrills, decide to orchestrate a prank, adding an uninvited layer of tension to their already fraught expedition. On their way back to their vehicle, a gruesome discovery awaits them - a lifeless body. In a moment of ill-judged opportunism, Skylar swipes a Rolex from the wrist of the deceased. When Jin uncovers their disrespectful act, he delivers a chilling prophecy - they are now cursed. This tale of a quest for closure quickly transforms into a haunting saga of misadventure, mystery, and impending doom.
