God of War (2017)

Immersed in the tumultuous 16th century, the Chinese coastline is besieged by a relentless swarm of Japanese pirates. Their audacious control extends to Cengang in Zhejiang, claimed in 1557. The once-thriving coastal town becomes a shadow of its former self, echoing with the pirates' cruel laughter. Months of tormented stalemate follow, but hope flickers in the form of Commander Yu (Sammo Hung). Under the strategic guidance of the newly appointed General Qi (Vincent Zhao), they orchestrate a daring counterattack, driving back the marauders. Yet, the pirates, slippery as eels, manage to slither away into the shadows. Four years later, the pirates regroup with a vengeance, their sights set once again on the coastal cities of China. A two-pronged assault ensues, terrorizing the cities of Xinhe and Taizhou. Caught in the vise of this dual onslaught, General Qi's army faces a harrowing predicament. Xinhe, home to the families of his brave soldiers, beckons with its pleas for protection. Yet, Qi chooses the path less trodden - a perilous journey to Taizhou. His wife, a beacon of resilience, is left to command the defense of Xinhe against the pirate menace. This daring gambit isn't without reason. Qi's battle-hardened gaze is fixed on the defeat of the pirates' elite in Taizhou. He knows that this victory could quench the flames of war and usher in an era of hard-won peace for the beleaguered coastal cities. This isn't just a fight for survival, but a struggle for the very soul of China. As the fates of Xinhe and Taizhou hang in the balance, the God of War must decide the destiny of a nation.
