Raymond, a London-based bank clerk with a passion for the fiery rhythms of Samba, finds his life in tatters when he discovers his wife's betrayal with his boss. In this whirlwind of emotional turmoil, he daringly embezzles the bank's money and embarks on an impulsive journey to Rio de Janeiro, the vibrant heart of his Samba dreams. In Rio, Raymond's life takes a thrilling turn. He is mistaken for a high-roller due to his stolen wealth and is swept up in a world of luxury and allure. Amidst the city's pulsating heartbeat, he crosses paths with Orlinda, a renowned Samba dancer whose allure matches the city's vibrancy. Raymond's arrival is marked by a run-in with a cunning local mobster, a 'bicheiro' who controls an illegal lottery. He is also robbed by a street-savvy taxi driver named Paulo, who incidentally has ties to Orlinda and the mobster. Before long, Raymond discovers he's been ensnared in a complex plot to re-rob him, orchestrated by Orlinda and Paulo. After a shocking betrayal, he finds himself penniless and abandoned, left to navigate the unforgiving streets of Rio. Yet, the resilient spirit of Samba fuels Raymond's determination. He grudgingly teams up with Paulo, and together they outwit the mobster, reclaiming the stolen funds. With his life forever altered by his Brazilian escapade, Raymond returns to England, intending to return the stolen funds. But upon his arrival, he is met with an unexpected twist, as surprising as the rhythm of the Samba that led him to Rio.
