Plot

In the vibrant, often tumultuous city of Cape Town, lovebirds Hugh and Kate find themselves embroiled in a weekend getaway, a temporary respite from their ceaseless quarrels. They journey toward their secluded "love shack", cradled in the lofty embrace of the Cederberg mountains. Along the way, their path crosses with a young hitchhiker, a striking beauty clothed in tight denim "Daisy Duke" shorts, standing by the roadside like a wildflower lost in a concrete jungle. Kate, wary and suspicious of the alluring stranger, reluctantly concurs with Hugh's decision to offer her a ride. The mysterious girl, Liza, remains guarded about her personal life, yet hints at a strange origin from "an alien planet" in "nowhere." Their curiosity piqued and sympathy stirred by her apparent hunger, they invite her to join them for lunch at Kate's home, blissfully unaware of the storm they've just invited into their sanctuary. The golden rule of navigating South African roads, "never pick up a hitchhiker," echoes ominously in the backdrop of this tale. A rule born from a land where the specter of death looms large, claiming 49 lives each day. Yet, Hugh and Katherine, caught in the whirlwind of their hospitality, seem to have forgotten this crucial advice. What unfolds is a riveting narrative that underscores the inherent peril of inviting the unknown into your life. Unknowingly, they've cracked open their door to danger, setting the stage for a suspenseful interplay of trust, fear, and the ultimate consequences of their fateful decision.
