In the bustling heart of New York City, Duffy Bergman, a witty cartoonist, crosses paths with the culinary virtuoso, Meg Lloyd. As their eyes meet, a love story begins to unfold, leading them down the aisle. However, love, as intoxicating as it may be, does not guarantee happiness. Meg's maternal instincts surface, sparking a desire for a child, a notion that initially sends Duffy into a frenzy. Yet, as time passes, this desire becomes a shared dream. Their happiness is cut short when they discover they cannot conceive, prompting Meg to immerse herself in her career. Gradually, they find themselves drifting apart on the sea of life, leading to their separation. The story takes a captivating turn when Duffy attends a Delta Gamma sorority convention as a speaker. Amidst the crowd of eager young women, he confesses his long-held fantasy - the Delta Gamma goddesses have always been his dream girls. Among them, he encounters the vivacious Daphne Delillo, a young sorority member. When fate brings Daphne to New York as a sports reporter, their mutual allure and Daphne's free-spirited nature ignite a thrilling new chapter in Duffy's life. Caught in a whirlwind of emotions, Duffy is torn between the love he let go and the love he has always yearned for. Now, he must confront his feelings and decide what holds more value - the past that he has lost, or the future he has always fantasized about.
