Expecting their firstborn, the young American pair, Mark and Olivia, decide to embark on the adventure of their dreams - a European voyage. With hearts full of anticipation, they navigate through an online portal to book private lodgings for their month-long sojourn. Their journey begins in Germany, where they are warmly received by Elisabeth, the daughter of their first host. Their accommodation, a petite home nestled by a mesmerizing lake, holds particular significance for them. It lies in the same town where Olivia's great-grandparents once lived. However, they soon discover that their elderly landlady is hospitalized, her life slowly ebbing away. Despite the sobering news, Elisabeth ushers them to their temporary abode. Under the starlit German sky, Mark and Olivia experience their inaugural night in the country. It is on this night that Mark forms a peculiar bond with the property's owner.
