Foxtrot (1976)

As World War II engulfs the globe, Romanian nobleman Liviu and his wife Julia seek sanctuary on an uncharted tropical paradise, seeking to outrun not only the horrors of war but also their intricate past. In an opulent beachside mansion-like tent, they establish a lavish existence, with every possible amenity at their disposal and their loyal servants at their beck and call. However, their tranquil seclusion is shattered when an unexpected group of acquaintances descend upon their haven, voraciously consuming their stockpiles and, during a psychotic hunting spree, exterminating every creature on the island. Their departure is as abrupt as their invasion, leaving behind a skeletal crew of Liviu, Julia, their friend Larson, and Eusebio, their lone remaining servant. Anticipated supplies fail to materialize, their link with the outer world severed, and an intense love triangle simmers amidst the sun-drenched isolation. As resources dwindle, the veneer of their paradisiacal existence starts to crack, giving way to a toxic brew of suspicion, avarice, and jealousy. The once serene refuge morphs into a crucible of human passions, threatening to shatter their Edenic existence.
