Nestled within the anonymous heart of suburban America, the scent of sizzling barbeque lingers in the air as Independence Day festivities transition from the sweltering daylight to the cool, indigo night. Joe, a hard-working man often away from home, leaves his family amidst the revelries, attributing his absence to an unavoidable business trip. His daughter, Abigayle, vibrant yet burdened, is left to care for her ailing mother and uphold the household, a role she's grown weary and familiar with. Craving just a trace of companionship to get her through another solitary night, she seeks solace in Dexter, a former high school basketball prodigy, now a shadow of his glorious past. Simultaneously, Joe surreptitiously navigates the town with June, a young man he encountered online, who is wrestling with self-acceptance. On this special night, the worlds of these four individuals converge, becoming remarkably compact. Yet within this confinement, they experience a sense of freedom, dangerous and ephemeral, but imbued with raw honesty, like never before.
