In the soul of New York City lies Fort Tilden, a hidden coastal gem luring Brooklyn's trendy millennials like bees to nectar on sizzling weekend afternoons for unrestricted seasonal revelry. Amidst the frustrating stagnation of their quarter-life conundrums, we meet Allie (Clare McNulty), wrestling with her preparations for the Peace Corps, and Harper (Bridey Elliot), who's patiently waiting for her father's checks to fuel her artistic aspirations. The allure of a carefree afternoon at Fort Tilden, however, proves too strong when they're invited by a couple of charming strangers. Swiftly, they abandon their obligations, hop on their vintage bicycles, and set off on an adventurous journey towards the beach. But as they pedal their way towards the azure horizon, the girls are confronted by the unsettling parallel between their unsure path and their muddled, transitional lives - they're unsure of their destination and clueless about their route. This is the essence of "Fort Tilden", the debut feature film by directors Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers. It's a comically incisive and relatable exploration of the repercussions of prolonged adolescence, masterfully presented through the brilliant comic performances of Clare McNulty and Bridey Elliott as Allie and Harper.
