Forbidden Planet (1956)

Captain Adams and his crew are sent to investigate radio silence from a group of research scientists working on a distant planet. Their concerns are proven to be founded when they discover that only two of the researchers survived: Dr. Morbius and his daughter Altaira. It turns out that the rest of the crew was killed by a giant and horrible monster that rampages across the planet, but these two survived alone for some reason. But Morbius might not be letting on to everything he knows right away, and Captain Adams have no reason to believe they should trust him yet.
