Plot

Wealthy New York heiress and founder of the Verdi Club, Florence Foster Jenkins, had an enormous love for music. Initially wanting to be a concert pianist, an injury derailed her dream. So, despite the lack of talent in the musical elements of an excellent performance other than energy, she pursued a dream of being an operatic vocalist. In her head and her opinion, she thought her voice was beautiful, but in reality, her voice was so bad that other people found it hilarious. Continuing to shield Florence from the truth, her manager and husband, aristocratic English actor St Clair Bayfield had his work cut out for him when she decided to schedule a public performance in Carnegie Hall in 1944.
