Family Plan (2005)

Charlie Mackenzie, a former executive, finds herself in a precarious position when her company is acquired. The new boss, Edward Walcott, upholds a 'family company' ethos and misinterprets her stuck wedding ring as a sign of her marital status. Feeling cornered, Charlie chooses not to correct his misunderstanding. The plot thickens when she is required to invite her boss and his wife to her home. To maintain her fabricated family facade, she enlists the help of actor Buck Maddockx, who assumes the role of her husband, Frank, and the father of her supposed daughter Nicole - who in reality is merely a friend lending her an upscale house. Without the luxury of rehearsal time, they wade through a sea of audacious lies to give a convincing performance. However, their act encounters an unforeseen hurdle when the Walcotts decide to rent the neighboring house while their own Malibu mansion undergoes renovation. The story unfolds with a blend of humor, drama, and unexpected twists, making "Family Plan" a captivating watch.
