Plot

In the void of space, where nations converge, NASA, alongside its Soviet-Russian counterpart, gears up for another venture to the everlasting space station. Veteran astronaut J.J. 'Jim' Hendricks, known for his obstinacy during simulator trials, is primed for the captain's chair. However, a refusal to explain his crash while piloting a private aircraft leads to his command prospects being suspended, pushing him to the brink of resignation. Simultaneously, the Russians grapple with a domestic crisis, a military assault on Tadjikistan, the homeland of Captain Previ Federov. Federov's loyalty is split between his gratitude towards America, the realm that transformed his childhood dreams of space exploration into reality, and his patriotic duty. The plot takes a cosmic turn once Federov, in cahoots with two other crew members, stages a coup, commandeering the station. Armed with nuclear weapons, he presents the U.S. with a horrifying ultimatum: Force Russia to withdraw from Tadjikistan or face the annihilation of their cities. The threat of station explosion looms large, adding another layer of peril. The only feasible route to the station is through an experimental spacecraft, and one man emerges as the potential saviour - Hendricks, whose resignation has just come into effect. As the stakes mount, he's faced with the challenge of a lifetime, one that could tip the balance of global power and determine the fate of millions.
