Plot

In the shadowy confines of the police department, Hyun-min (Shin Hyun-jun) meticulously sculpts faces from the skeletal remains of the deceased, breathing life into the silent skulls. His world, however, shatters when his daughter's health deteriorates following a heart transplant. As her condition worsens, he finds himself questioning the heart's origins, suspecting it may be the root of her ailment, despite the dismissive reassurances of her physician, Dr. Yoon. With his daughter's health plunging, Hyun-min abandons his career, dedicating himself entirely to her care. Meanwhile, a chilling series of murders unfolds in the city. The victims are stripped down to their bones, their flesh dissolved by acid, leaving an eerie puzzle for the authorities. Sun-young (Song Yoon-ah), a new researcher at the institute, seeks Hyun-min's expertise to reconstruct the face of the fourth victim. Despite his initial refusal, Hyun-min finds himself haunted by the skull, and the visions it induces in his ailing daughter - a tormented woman in white. Fear and curiosity compelling him, he returns to his craft, shaping the ghostly face from the bare bones. The victims, it soon becomes clear, were all tormented by a fictional ailment known as 'beta-allergy' - a condition that his daughter mysteriously develops, implying a sinister connection to the transplanted heart. As Hyun-min and Sun-young delve deeper, a budding romance blossoms amidst the horror. Their investigation leads them down a twisted path of organ transplant conspiracy, with the victims appearing to be more than random targets. The revelations that follow hint at Dr. Yoon's disturbing involvement and a nefarious plot that reaches beyond the realm of the living. Hyun-min's gift of reconstruction unveils more than just faces. It peels away layers of deceit, revealing the chilling supernatural secret entwined with the lives and deaths of the victims. With each reconstructed face, they are one step closer to unmasking the dark truth, walking a tightrope between reality and the spectral world. The chilling tale of 'Face' unearths a web of corruption, love, and the supernatural as it spirals towards a shocking climax.
