Plot

Immersed in a maelstrom of adolescent turmoil, 14-year-old Alyssa finds herself cast adrift following her mother's tragic drowning. As her behaviour spirals, Alyssa's beleaguered grandmother, Lucy, makes the desperate decision to introduce her to a father she believed was long dead - James. A dedicated dolphin researcher based in the idyllic expanse of Grand Bahama Island's Smith's Point, James is as knowledgeable about marine life as he is ignorant of fatherhood. As Alyssa and Lucy step into James' world, they find it teetering on the brink of collapse, threatened by encroaching tourism. A sense of impending chaos hangs heavy in the air, intertwining the fates of father, daughter, dolphins, and the very town itself. Amidst the tumult, the bond between James and Alyssa begins to cautiously blossom, spurred on by the encouragement of his supportive girlfriend and her empathetic father. However, it's the sentient dolphins, with their intricate communication, that become the unlikely teachers in this unfolding drama. As Alyssa learns to quiet her own turbulence and truly listen, she unlocks a profound connection with these captivating creatures, and perhaps, a pathway to her own salvation.
