Plot

In the heart of suburbia, an extraordinary space adventure takes flight. Centered around the lives of Ben Crandall (Ethan Hawke) and Wolfgang Muller (River Phoenix), two adolescent misfits bonded by their shared fascination with the cosmic unknown. Ben, a visionary dreamer, finds solace in late-night B-movie marathons, comic books, and interstellar arcade games, his heart set on the far-off galaxies. His dreams soon take on a life of their own as he begins to experience vivid nocturnal visions of circuit board-like landscapes resembling space. Meanwhile, his best friend Wolfgang is a prodigious scientific maverick who possesses the ability to turn Ben's dreams into reality. When Ben shares his recurring dream of a mysterious blueprint, Wolfgang deciphers it into a complex computer program, an unexpected leap towards their shared dream of space travel. Enter Darren Woods, their newfound ally, who helps to add the finishing touches to their audacious endeavor. Together, they transform their homespun lab into a launchpad, embarking on a clandestine journey across the cosmos aboard their self-made spacecraft. As they navigate through the celestial landscapes, they discover that the galaxies are not as alien as they seem, and that the wonders of the universe may mirror their own world in intriguing ways. "Explorers" is a tale of friendship, dreams, and daring adventures that span galaxies, reminding us that sometimes, the universe is not as far off as we think, and our dreams might just be a blueprint away.
