Plot

In the chilling tradition of Friday the 13th and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and from the masterminds behind Paranormal Activity and Insidious, comes a new brand of terror. Exeter plunges us into the eerie world of an abandoned asylum, a place echoing with the unspeakable horrors of its past. Here, amidst an all-night, intoxicating revelry, a band of unsuspecting teenagers dabble in the forbidden realm of the occult. Their innocent curiosity quickly spirals into a maelstrom of terror when a violent possession seizes one of their own. Trapped within the asylum's foreboding walls with no contact to the outside world, alliances crumble, tension mounts and desperation takes hold. In an ill-fated bid to rescue their friend from the demon's grasp, the group fumbles through an amateur exorcism. But their well-intentioned efforts have disastrous consequences. They unwittingly unleash an even more potent entity, a vengeful spirit with a single, chilling agenda - their total annihilation. The only hope for these terrified teens is to delve deep into the asylum's enigmatic history and unravel the terrible secrets that lurk within its depths. What begins as a playful experiment in the paranormal swiftly morphs into a blood-soaked nightmare, a torrent of unexpected horrors that none of them could have ever foreseen. As the clock ticks relentlessly down, they must navigate the labyrinthine horrors of the asylum, unearthing dark truths and hoping to find a way out - before it's too late.
