Plot

In the heart of Boston's vibrant Italian neighborhood, Jake Bianski, a fishmonger, navigates the turbulent waters of love and identity. He's been nursing a seemingly unextinguishable flame for Isabella, his former flame now a wife and mother of three with no romantic inclinations towards him. Despite this, Jake spins a tangled web of half-truths, declaring to all that Isabella remains his one and only. Among the unsuspecting recipients of Jake's tale is Marisa, a charming veterinarian introduced to him by his well-meaning employees at an Italian singles club. Initially smitten, Marisa's interest cools when she learns of Jake's 'girlfriend'. Undeterred, Jake doggedly pursues a platonic relationship with her. As their friendship navigates choppy seas, Jake begins to question the allure of his fantasies, discovering that reality might offer a more satisfying taste. But the course of true love is seldom smooth. What if Isabella decides to fan the dying embers of their past love? And what if the truth peeks from beneath the Italian veneer, revealing that, like Jake, Marisa is not truly Italian? "Everybody Wants to Be Italian" is a hearty serving of love, lies, and self-discovery, seasoned with a pinch of unexpected surprises.
