Kate Harper, the charismatic host of the nationally syndicated "The Morning Show with Kate Harper," enjoys the warmth of her viewers' adoration from her Los Angeles base. Her professional life is intertwined with her past, as her producer and showrunner, Jack Brewster, is also a ghost from her college days - an old flame whose marriage proposal to another woman, due to distance, ended their relationship. Despite this, they maintain a harmonious working relationship, keeping their personal history at bay. However, Kate's coveted status takes a dramatic tumble when a technical mishap leads to an accidental broadcast of her confession of disliking Christmas. The incident is further complicated when she unintentionally pushes a Christmas ornament collector guest to the ground, a move some viewers perceive as intentional due to her earlier confession. The public outcry is swift and resounding, pushing Kate into a corner. In a bid to save face and restore Kate's public image, network executive Lauren Foster devises a plan. Kate is to visit Hollyvale, North Dakota, a small town that prides itself on being the biggest little Christmas town in the country. The town's mayor, Ted Drysdale, extends an invitation, and Jack is to accompany her. Together, they are to broadcast promotional segments about Hollyvale, its Christmas spirit, and, most importantly, Kate's journey to rediscovering her own Christmas spirit. Despite her reservations and the cancellation of her individual Christmas vacation to warmer locations, Kate accepts the mission. But as she arrives in Hollyvale, she finds herself drawn into a mystery. A beloved Christmas tree, traditionally the centerpiece of the town square, is conspicuously missing. As Kate turns her assignment into an investigative journey about the missing tree, she finds herself grappling with her own feelings towards Christmas. In the heart of Hollyvale, Kate not only embarks on a quest to find a missing Christmas tree but also discovers her lost Christmas spirit. Along the way, she reconciles with her past, mends her relationship with Jack, and learns to embrace the warmth of the season she once disdained.
