Haunted by the frigid memories of her childhood Christmas past, Elise MacReynolds has developed an aversion to the holiday season. Her yuletide dread is rooted in the countless hours spent in the biting cold, peddling Christmas trees from her family's farm on the icy corners of New York City. However, when life throws her a curveball, leaving her jobless and her father incapacitated, Elise finds herself reluctantly agreeing to man the family's beloved tree stand for one final season.
The plot thickens when the MacReynolds' long-time business venue changes hands, falling under the control of the austere Brook Glen, a home décor titan. An unfortunate encounter with their gruff CEO, Gary Dixon, sets the stage for a tumultuous relationship, as Elise inadvertently incurs his wrath while unloading a towering tree. Viewing the festive trees as a threat to his business, Gary hatches a sinister plan to eliminate the tree lot once and for all.
In the midst of her escalating feud with Gary, Elise unexpectedly finds herself succumbing to the infectious holiday spirit. She becomes a beacon of yuletide joy to the diverse residents of New York City, guiding them to their perfect tree - from expectant parents to an enthusiastic basketball team and a young boy selecting his inaugural tree. The frosty season also brings a sprinkle of romance as Darren, a charming regular, confesses his ulterior motive for his frequent purchases - a chance to talk to the captivating Elise.
But as Gary's plan unfolds, resulting in the seizure of the trees and closure of the lot by the NYFD, Elise is faced with a daunting challenge. Can she melt Gary's icy exterior, and salvage the dwindling holiday time to rescue her family's legacy? Armed with the support of her budding love interest, her family, friends, and loyal customers, and a dash of Christmas magic, Elise might just stand a chance at pulling off a Christmas Eve miracle.
