Plot

In the throes of their teenage years, Flama and Moko find themselves tethered by the bonds of a long-term friendship. Their sanctuary from the mundanity of an otherwise dull Sunday is an unattended apartment, stocked with the essentials of adolescent life: video games, titillating magazines, a supply of fizzy drinks, and the promise of a pizza delivery. The serenity of their planned day, however, is interrupted by a mishmash of unexpected elements - an unscheduled visit from the power company, a sudden appearance by their neighbour Rita, an unexpected encounter with pizza deliveryman Ulises, the tension of the Real Madrid-Manchester match, the indulgence of chocolate brownies and the unsettling presence of an atrocious duck painting. The movie, "Duck Season," takes its viewers on an emotional roller-coaster as it peels back the layers of their Sunday, revealing beneath the surface the raw realities of a parent's divorce, the sting of solitude, the muddled emotions experienced at the cusp of love and friendship during adolescence, and the rueful disappointment of adult existence. As their day descends into chaos, the film illuminates the beauty found in the dark, reminding its audience that even when the lights are extinguished, the shimmering stars can still be seen.
