Plot

In the cultural mosaic of Britain, Safa Habimana, a struggling Muslim immigrant, ardently yearns for a reunion with her estranged husband while her teenage son, Ayyash, grapples with his own troubles. Ayyash's reckless pursuits soon invite the unwanted attention of the authorities, pushing Safa towards a desperate decision to protect her only child. Her desperation leads her to implore Nat, her Jewish employer and the local baker, to take Ayyash under his wing as an apprentice. Despite the initial challenges that come with new beginnings, an unexpected transformation begins to take shape. Thanks to a game-changing recipe, Nat's humble bakery experiences an unexpected surge of success, fostering an unlikely yet profound bond between the old baker and the young apprentice. As they relish in their newfound prosperity, they remain blissfully unaware of the looming troubles threatening their harmony. In this heartwarming narrative, Dough explores the complexities of interfaith relationships and the shared human experience, all baked together in the oven of life.
