In the cultural mosaic of Britain, Safa Habimana, a struggling Muslim immigrant, ardently yearns for a reunion with her estranged husband while her teenage son, Ayyash, grapples with his own troubles. Ayyash's reckless pursuits soon invite the unwanted attention of the authorities, pushing Safa towards a desperate decision to protect her only child. Her desperation leads her to implore Nat, her Jewish employer and the local baker, to take Ayyash under his wing as an apprentice. Despite the initial challenges that come with new beginnings, an unexpected transformation begins to take shape.
