In the heart of a bustling city, renowned detective James Lee Wong is lured into the enigmatic case of Cyrus P. Wentworth, a shipping magnate drowned in despair over a catastrophe that befell his ocean liner, the 'Wentworth Castle'. The ship, mysteriously sunk, was carrying an illicit cargo of Chinese bonds worth a staggering million and a half dollars. This disaster is swiftly followed by the brutal murder of Wentworth himself. Caught in the crosshairs of the police, led by the tenacious Detective Captain Bill Street, is Dick Fleming, the love-struck fiancé of Wentworth's daughter, Cynthia.
