Haunted by the specters of war, Vincent Loreau (Matthias Schoenaerts), a decorated French Special Forces soldier recently returned from the desolate landscapes of Afghanistan, grapples with the insidious grasp of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. His new mission, far from the battlefield, plunges him into the sun-soaked splendor of the South of France, in a grand estate known as "Maryland." Serving as a bodyguard, Vincent is entrusted with the lives of Jessie, the elegant wife of a wealthy Lebanese tycoon, and her child. Despite the gilded tranquility of their surroundings, Vincent's war-torn psyche crafts a different reality.
