Dev.D (2009)

Dev, a young man in turmoil, finds himself drowning in a world of vodka and narcotics after a misunderstanding sees him reject the love of his childhood sweetheart, Paro. The taste of regret is bitter, but Paro moves on, leaving Dev marooned in his ocean of remorse. Meanwhile, in the city's underbelly, we meet Chanda. A teenage girl ensnared in the grim world of prostitution, she battles demons of her own. When their paths intertwine, there's a glimmer of solace. Dev is drawn to her, but his self-destructive tendencies keep them from truly uniting. In this whirlpool of despair, Dev is lured further into the abyss by the unsavoury Chunni, Chanda's pimp, who manipulates Dev's downfall for his own gains.
