Deranged (1974)

In the desolate heart of rural Wisconsin, a man's life is ruled by his bedridden and domineering mother, who instills in him a belief that all women harbor an inherent evil. His existence is one of obedience and isolation, until death’s icy hand clasps his mother, leaving him bereft. Struggling with the gaping void of her absence, he succumbs to desperation and, a year later, unearths her corpse, bringing her decaying form back to the confines of their decrepit farmhouse. His solitude intertwines with madness, and he embarks on a macabre journey into the craft of taxidermy, seeking to preserve the mother he so dearly misses. As his obsession grows, so does his audacity. Graveyards are no longer sacred grounds but a trove of materials to mend his mother’s rotting body. But the graves prove to be inadequate suppliers, leading him on a haunting quest for fresher resources. "Deranged" is a chilling exploration of a man's descent into darkness, a tale inspired by the true story of Ed Gein. It paints an unnerving portrait of a farmer warped by love and loss, whose yearning for companionship drives him to unthinkable extremes.
