In the shadowy corners of Sicily's past, 1486 to be precise, a chilling tale is etched in blood and fear. A quintet of hapless nuns find themselves crucified within their sacred sanctuary, accused of devil worship by the superstitious and fearful locals. Fast forward to the year 1990, the echo of these horrific events finds a voice in the bustling city of Toronto. There, the skeptical Professor Paul Evans teams up with his superstition-laden partner, Liza Harris, as they spearhead an archaeological expedition to the medieval site where the nuns met their gruesome fate. As they delve deeper into the ruins of the crypt, the line between reality and nightmare blurs for Liza. She is haunted by surreal dreams of the crucified nuns, their tortured past reaching out from the grave to taint her sleep. The expedition, meanwhile, becomes a stage for inexplicable occurrences.
