Plot

In the bustling heart of India, Delhi-6, unfolds the poignant tale of Roshan Mehra, a young man with duel heritage, born to a Muslim mother and Hindu father in the United States. When his grandmother, the spirited Annapurna, yearns to breathe her last in the familiar lanes of Delhi, Roshan, bound by love and duty, accompanies her on this sentimental journey. Their arrival in Delhi sparks a series of events, starting with a warm greeting from Ali Beg, a man who once harbored unspoken affection for Roshan’s mother, Fatima. Roshan also encounters the vibrant Sharma family, eagerly matchmaking between him and their daughter Rama, while simultaneously attempting to tame their fiery, Indian Idol aspirant daughter, Bittu. As Roshan immerses himself into the rich cultural tapestry of Delhi, he meets an array of Hindus and Muslims, who embrace him with generosity and warmth. However, amidst the conviviality, he also witnesses the deep-seated caste discrimination that persists, untouched by the wave of modernity and technological advancements. The harmony of the community is further disrupted by the rising terror of Kala Bandhar, a mysterious entity whose presence fuels the embers of religious mistrust. As Hindus point fingers at Muslim fanatics and Muslims suspect a political scheme to destroy a mosque, Roshan navigates through this labyrinth of fear and suspicion, unravelling the true essence of Delhi-6.
