Daag (1973)

Embroidered in the fabric of destiny and pursuit, Daag is a tale of Sunil (Rajesh Khanna), a man ensnared in the clutches of a murder conviction. Forced to abandon his freshly wed bride, Sonia (Sharmila Tagore), in the wake of killing her prospective assailant, Sunil finds himself a fugitive, hunted by the relentless grip of justice. In an audacious bid to shed his tarnished past, Sunil crosses paths with Chandni (Rakhee). To legitimize her unborn child, he fashions a new identity and weds her, ascending to the respected position of a town Mayor. However, like a shadow at noon, his past refuses to be banished. As fate weaves its intricate patterns, Sunil and Sonia reunite, but the omnipresent arm of law trails just a heartbeat behind.
