Cocktail (1988)

Upon his discharge from the military, the charming and charismatic Brian Flanagan returns to his New York City stomping grounds to reunite with his uncle and make his mark. While studying business and figuring out his million-dollar idea, the budding entrepreneur resumes bartending, the family business, to make ends meet. This is how he meets Doug Coughlin, who becomes the ambitious Flanagan's friend and mentor. They decide to become business partners and seek their fortunes together until Doug betrays Brian, which sends the disenchanted barkeep to Jamaica to recoup and earn money. While in Jamaica, Flanagan falls hard for visiting waitress, Jordan Mooney, who has a few secrets of her own. Things become even more complicated when Coughlin re-enters Flanagan's life. An impressive cast, stunning locations, and a killer soundtrack help make this story about the pitfalls of ambition and finding love while striving for success a winner.
